WORLD WAR ONE
Gunner Robert Samuel Barber served with the 7th Field Artillery Brigade Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He was killed in action in Belgium on the 3rd of October 1917 aged 23.
Private Thomas Allison Bruce served with the 4th Machine Gun Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He was killed in action on the 29th of March 1918 aged 29.
Private Harold Kennard Clarke served with the 2nd Machine Gun Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He died of wounds in France on the 3rd of October 1918 aged 38.
Driver Henry Robert Denny served with the 15th Field Company Engineers Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He died of wounds in Belgium on the 30th of October 1917 aged 25.
Corporal John Dobe served with the 5th Queensland Imperial Bushmen in the Boer War in South Africa in 1901 and 1902. He survived the Boer War and in World War One he served with the 3rd Battalion Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force in New Guinea, and then with the18th Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF). He was killed in action in France on the 29th of August 1918 aged 37.
Lance Corporal Joseph Edwards served with the 31st Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He died of wounds in Belgium on the 22nd of June 1917 aged 20.
Second Lieutenant William Fraser was an Australian pilot who served with the 7th Squadron of the British Royal Flying Corps in World War One. He died of wounds in France on the 25th of October 1916. His brother also died in the war.
Private John Fraser served with the 49th Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He was killed in action in France on the 12th of August 1918. His brother also died in the war.
Private Arthur Alexander Gardner served with the 25th Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He died of wounds in France on the 30th of July 1916 aged 21. His brother also died in the war.
Private John Thompson Gardner served with the 47th Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He was killed in action in France on the 5th of April 1918 aged 18. His brother also died in the war.
Private Thomas Frederick Glover served with the 25th Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He died of wounds in France on the 1st of May 1918 aged 26.
Private William Charles Hammond served with the 25th Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He was killed in action in France on the 29th of July 1916 aged 21.
Private Walter Arthur Jarrett joined the 11th Depot Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One but died of illness before he could go overseas to fight. He was aged 18. He wasn’t entitled to any medals.
Private George Alexander Low served with the 15th Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He was being returned to Australia on a hospital ship because of an illness, and died on board the ship on the 29th of January 1918. He was aged 25.
Private Alexander Welsh Munsie served with the 25th Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He was killed in action in France on the 3rd of October 1918 aged 27.
Private George Alexander Sanderson served with the 26th Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He was killed in action in France on the 16th of July 1918 aged 31.
Private Horace Beach Smith served with the 33rd Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He died of wounds in France on the 5th of May 1917 aged 23.
Private Thomas Desmond Charles Woods served with the 42nd Infantry Battalion Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He was killed in action in Belgium on the 4th of October 1917 aged 21.
Driver Albert Robert Youngman served with the 3rd Field Artillery Brigade Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War One. He died of wounds in France on the 22nd of August 1916 aged 25.
WORLD WAR TWO
Ordinary Seaman Jim Berry was a Royal Australian Navy sailor who was attached to the British Royal Navy ship HMS Anking in World War Two. He was killed in action when his ship was sunk off the coast of Indonesia on the 4th of March 1942. He was 20 years old.
Flying Officer William Dennis Bohl served with 148th Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force in World War Two. He was killed in action over the Middle East on the 31st of July 1942 aged 20.
Private Esmond Thomas Butten-Singh served in the Australian army with the 2nd 15th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He was killed in action in Libya, Africa, on the 21st of August 1941 aged 21.
Corporal George Kennett Clark served in the Australian army with the 2nd 14th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He was killed in action in Borneo on the 2nd of July 1945 aged 30. His name is not on the Yandina War Memorial but is on a special plaque that was once in the Yandina Anglican Church. The plaque is now in the possession of the Yandina RSL.
Private Braidwood Clifford Evans served in the Australian army with the 2nd 14th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He was killed in action in New Guinea on the 22nd of November 1942 aged 23.
Private Clark Davis Ivins served in the Australian army with the 2nd 12th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He was wounded in New Guinea and evacuated to Australia. He died from those wounds on the 5th of April 1943 aged 24.
Private Edward John James served in the Australian army with the 2nd 25th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He was killed in action in New Guinea on the 14th of October 1942 aged 19.
Private Joseph Charles James served in the Australian army with the 2nd 25th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He was killed in action in New Guinea on the 16th of September 1942 aged 26.
Private Lance George Jensen served in the Australian Army with the 9th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He was killed in action in New Guinea on the 31st of August 1942 aged 25.
Private Reginald Arthur Kerrison served in the Australian army with the 2nd 26th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He died of illness on the 16th of June 1943 while a Prisoner of War in Thailand. He was aged 37.
Corporal Colin Archibald Knott served in the 9th Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force in World War Two. He was attached to the Royal Australian Navy and serving on the Australian ship HMAS Perth when he died in a sea battle in the Sundra Strait, Indonesia, on the 1st of March 1942. He was aged 28.
Private John Lawrence O’Brien served in the Australian army with the 2nd 12th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He died of wounds in New Guinea on the 6th of January 1943 aged 33.
Private Herbert Martin Schipp served in World War Two with the 3rd Reserve Motor Transport Company of the Australia Army Service Corps. He died of illness on the 8th of August 1945 while a Prisoner of War in Thailand. He was aged 39.
Private William Alfred Sydney Smith served in the Australian army with the 2nd 15th Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He died of illness in Australia on the 10th of June 1943 aged 34.
Private Leslie Frederick Taege served in the Australian army with the 2nd 31st Australian Infantry Battalion in World War Two. He was killed in action in Syria on the 22nd of June 1941 aged 21.
Flight Lieutenant Douglas William Willett served with the 24th Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force in World War Two. He was killed in action in Borneo on the 2nd of July 1945 aged 30.
